Description
The Unit Nurse Manager serves a key member of the Frankie’s World Management Team and is under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Manager or Director of Nursing. All clinical staff (i.e., RN’s; LPN’s; Teachers; and Aides) report directly to the Unit Nurse Manager, who is responsible for the supervision of said staff. Along with the duties and responsibilities of Management within Frankie’s World, the Unit Nurse Manager is held to a high standard of professionalism. Good leadership principles will be demonstrated through positive role modeling behaviors for staff including, but not limited to attendance, timeliness, positive interaction with children, families, staff, referral sources and visitors as well as a strong work ethic.
Duties
Assure the timely completion of all patients 30 Day Summaries
Coordination of the medical record, including the assurance of all paperwork requirements maintained for the patient charting
Conduct chart audits monthly
Maintain shift reports
Assist with transportation coordination
Provide direct patient care as assigned staffing of center including opening and closing
Consultation with families, physicians and other professionals as needed
Implements new Policies and Procedures and assures proper implementation
Conduct or facilitates staff in services/professional development trainings
Print MAR’s for the next month
Compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
Transcription of MD orders
Oversee/Precept Nurse Trainees
Assist with admissions/discharges
Feedback using open communication with Administrator, DON, Clinical Manager, staff and other management regarding issues/concerns
Monitor daily the employee checklist
Report directly to the Director of Nursing or Clinical Manager regrading issues or concerns
Other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing or Clinical Manager
Requirements
1. Licensed registered nurse in the state (PA)
2. Three years experience as a professional nurse in pediatrics with 1 year administrative/supervisory
